The record caters to both turntablists/scratch dj's as to digital dj's who still prefer that vinyl touch over cd's or controllers. The A-side is a collection of skip proof scratch sounds, carefully sought out so that you don't end up with the same sounds all the other records have. And the B-side contains a timecode that works flawlessly on common digital vinyl systems. 'Black Gold' is available through us only, it won't be in any shops. Limited to 300 copies, and pressed on some nice orange/gold marble vinyl, this is a record you just can't pass on if you're a scratch fiend or a digital discjockey!  5 YEARS IN THE GAMEYes yes y'all, we'll be celebrating our 5th anniversary this year. On sunday May 19th (monday is a public holiday), we're taking over Het Depot in Leuven, for a night to remember. We'll start things off with a live show by Jesse Boykins III, and then set the party off right with an all star line-up of dj's we've shared the decks with in these 5 years, or who've played a role in The Mixfitz history. Thanks to go out to the good folks at Rane USA for fixing this endorsement deal!  THE MIXFITZ IN TMF STRESSFACTORJust like in 2010, we're part of the TMF Stress Factor line-up. Stress Factor is a series of mini-festivals at high schools all over the country. The students themselves get to pick the artists they want to see at their school. And like two years ago, we'll once again be joined on stage by mc Jaymee aka Ja Blaks from Undefined / City Folk. We can't wait to rock those playgrounds!  DMC 2012 WORLD CHAMPIONS!We can still hardly believe it, but mission accomplished: last thursday (September 27th), we won the DMC world title for teams at the HMV Forum in London. Apparently the jury - comprised of dj's and DMC branch managers from all over the world - voted unanimously, which makes us extra proud of course. We topped teams from France, Portugal, the Czech Republic, the U.S. and Brazil - and the competition was fierce. So now we can call ourselves world champs for at least one year: we will be defending our title at next year's 30th DMC anniversary world final, for sure. Video footage from our set should only be available when the official DVD is released, stay tuned for that! Special thanks go out to Syndaesia for helping us out with some ill production work in our 6 minute set. Bam!  THE MIXFITZ - EXPANSION TEAMIt's official: The Mixfitz is no longer a duo, as Antwerp's finest dj Cross (reigning IDA world champion) joins the ranks. Our longtime friend and Jack's former IFC team mate will be rocking alongside us from now on, whether it be at parties, showcases or battles. If you thought we were ill dj's, check again - Cross is sick! Welcome baws!  DMC BELGIUM 2012 SWEEP!On friday september 7th, we went on to win the national DMC team battle, reinforced by our new member, dj Cross. This victory qualifies us for the DMC 2012 World Championships, held in London (UK) on september 27th and 28th. On top of our team title, Damented also took home the honors of becoming the Belgian DMC champ in the solo category. So it was a clean sweep for The Mixfitz. Wish us luck for the world finals! SUMMERTIME AT STUDIO BRUSSEL! Like last year, we were part of the Playground rotation, so we provided the Studio Brussel listeners with some soulful summer mixes. These mixes were aimed more at the bbq than at dancefloors, so just sit back and enjoy: July 3rd (mixed by Jack) July 26th (mixed by Damented) August 11th (mixed by Jack) Something went wrong with the scheduling, which resulted in only three of the four mixes we provided to be broadcast.
